PKGBUILD files are how packages are built and created for Arch Linux and its derivatives such as Manjaro.
You may have even come across them a bit yourself if you’ve ever used the AUR, Arch Linux’s user-curated repository of PKGBUILDs.
But how exactly do you go from a PKGBUILD to an installable package? What exactly is going on between the two, and how can you make them for your own packages? You’ll learn them in this article.
For those who are familiar with Bash or other shells, you’ll be delighted to know, if you didn’t already, that a PKGBUILD is pretty much just a shell script with some variables.
PKGBUILD files consist of variables and functions, all of which are used to define the package itself, and how to build it.
To create a package from a PKGBUILD, the makepkg command line utility is used. After obtaining a PKGBUILD, you simply run makepkg
inside the directory containing the PKGBUILD, and voila, you have an installable package!
First, let's find out if we have an Intel/Nvidia hybrid graphics card:

>>> $ sudo yaourt -S akia
After the installation of these packages is completed, we need to run the service (PCSCD) that will enable our Electronic Signature card to be introduced in Linux and activate this service automatically at system startup. For this, let's give the following commands in the terminal again;
>>> $ sudo systemctl enable pcscd
>>> $ sudo systemctl start pcscd
Again, you can give the following command on the terminal to check whether the USB stick of your electronic signature is found by Linux without any problems.
>>> $ pcsc_scan
Again, after the installation is complete, you can run the flow card program by giving the akia command on the terminal. (You may get an error because you haven't installed Java yet)
Our packages for electronic signature have been installed and ready. Now, let's install Oracle java 8 in order not to have problems with Uyap login in the future, (Actually, Open Java works for us, but Openjava sometimes causes problems in document previews in Uyap)
Oracle Java 8 is available in the Aur repository, let's give the following command on the terminal for installation;
>>> $ sudo pikaur -S jre
Command to set jre8 java as default:
archlinux-java set java-8-jre/jre
Everything is ready. Ready to connect to the Uyap System.
Check in Systemsettings > Application Style > Window Decorations
there should be an option to set borders.
or edit the following config file: ~/.config/kwinrc
look for the line: BorderlessMaximizedWindows=true
and either change it to false or comment it out.
